  2. I did under $500/mo…in Chengdu, China back in 2011 (East costs much more).

Wasn’t luxurious but I had a 3 room apartment with A/C and a membership to the local gym. A $3 dinner was luxurious to me then lol.

  3. I own my own condo in Jomtien my basic monthly spend is never less than 60,000B .I agree the older condos were much better built ,the new condos with thin walls and ceilings can hear neighbors .thanks for honest living costs

  4. I rebuilt my sailboat to a live-aboard bugout survival pod. My yearly cost of living is down to $3500 including everything even internet. I could do it even cheaper than $500.

  5. I’ve NEVER EVER seen a video claiming that you can live for $500. Most I’ve seen state your rent will be around that amount. I think you are the one with the sensational claim😂. I see videos stating $1500

  6. I live in Thailand for 6 months a year and was never able to spend less than $1500 minimum per month… I rent condos on Airbnb and I rent my best finds wherever I stay.

  7. I’ve watched hundreds of these videos, and have yet to see one that says anyone can live off $500.00 a month. However, I have seen plenty that say expats living in Thailand can rent a decent condo for that amount. I’ve checked some apt. rental websites that have some nice condos in nice area for that amount…js!

  8. i live for about $500 usd a month. but 30 year south east asia here and know everything and really been everywhere. have acatully been to over 50 thai provinces of 76 or 77 depending on 1 if you consider bangkok a province. and 22 or 24 cambodian provinces. as well every single country south east asia. but not drink alcohol or smoke cigaretes and not go out at all.

and speak 6 languages of south east asia so i always getting local price

but no way would a newbie ever get to stay were took me many years to find
and his costs would be definetly higher. and can he really live as local 100% i doubt it

id say about $1000 usd a month for a newbie clueless wonder more closer to the truth not know what he is doing and not to be happy with only doing what a local would do

yes its true as video says youtuber just plain lieing about everything
its called dont know why you dont know MORE SPEWS FOR MORE VIEWS
what happened the quality of vidoes went way down . people only make as many videos as possible as think its a way to make money and if there were no ads like when youtube first started guess 90% of content would not be here. so few acautlly making videos as they want to only make a video

really the cost of living in thailand depends where you stay the further away you get from any tourist trap the cheaper it gets and the more thai you know or other local langauge the less some local even dare try to rip you off

then you get out of thailnad and even more cheap as fewer tourists

  9. I have tried living on $500 once. the only thing I did was sitting in my small apartment eating one meal a day and just waiting for the month to pass.
and that was in Chiang Mai during COVID when everything was half price.
I say now I live on 1000thb/day after moped/gas/apartment/electricity/visas/insurance is paid for. that’s decent if you don’t drink or smoke

  10. Bangkok is much more expensive than elsewhere in Thailand except Phuket. A small beer like Singha would cost over 100 baht anywhere in BKK but in Pattaya would cost as little as 39 baht – 55 baht. Food is also much, much cheaper the West as are fags and other ‘essentials’ such as Viagra. Transport is cheap too.

  11. It’s impossible to live even on 1K USD. Unless you want to live in a total hell hole and eat rice and beans or $2 street food that will land you in a hospital. Western lifestyle is not possible on such a small amount. A half decent condo will run you $800 a month. Quality western food will cost you more than in the west. By that same standard you can live in Canada on $1000 USD. Rent a cheap room for $600 and live on rice, beans and eggs on the rest. It can be done how come you are not doing it? And we have $1 beers here in Canada, cheaper than Thailand but you are not going to drink that sewage.

  12. Facts here, extremely rarely told, with in depth details being critically important (such as “paper thin walls”, some buildings not kept up to standards), so, therefore, 96% of others lying through their teeth, almost all others running Scam Podcast for viewers, sorta knew it all along, had major suspicions, grateful for revealing the absolute truth, a need to know.

  13. Thanks for some real talk. Im 60 and want to retire in Thialand on $1500. a month. Lord knows I can’t live well in America for this amount. I don’t drink, but I do smoke. Tell me, am I being unrealistic in this $1500.00 dream ? Thanks, everyone, for any responses.

  14. I’m a cheap Charlie, so I can hit those numbers, sometimes over like 600 dollars but not often. However I do agree with you, most people can not do what I can do. I lived in a 28 square feet condo in Bangkok, costing 260 dollars and only 10 minutes away from bts. I then proceed to eat Thai food and take BTS 95 percent of the time. Even McDonalds and kfc is cheap.

This life is boring for most people but I love it, I don’t need to spend much to be happy. walking in parks, being in shopping centers, reading my kindle, sometimes taking a laptop and drinking bubble tea makes me happy. I met my friends in cheap food courts and have a chat and that would be a day. I guess everyone is different. Not everyone would like me as a friend because I’m cheap, but that’s also ok, it doesn’t bother me.
